OW!!

Surgery was successful, also hurt like the dickens. Rehab starts now see you on the mat soon!!

Mental Aikido a paltry substitute but it is all I have. (sniff) 2.5 almost 3 miles yesterday. Took Samantha all the way past the Creek over both hill and dale.(Dale didn't seem to care) to second pond. Ducks ate bread and all was well.
Did Solo Jo Kata today slow and easy.

Went for 1st post op and Doc says progressing well Siatic nerve is still somewhat irritated and doing too much causes somes inflamtion (loosely translated) PAIN!! Good news is I can begin water therapy chest deep wading, and swimming to increase back muscle strength. Asked about Subari and was told come see him in one month. Sheez will try slow bokken cuts in 2 weeks. shhh!!

Got to the gym 6:00 am did 15 laps walking in pool followed by 5 laps on the kickboard. Good to work some muscles again been way too long!!

Well today more of the same. Added a variety of stretching excersizes "designed to strenghthen the muscles while increasing flesibility" time consuming but focused on centering, posture, and breathing will be useful later.oh and five laps around the inside of the office building during lunch had to be at least 2/3 mile.
Changed the walking to a high step plant high step plant while maintaining centered posture seemed to make it more interesting and will help develop better posture habits.....next adjustment walk on top of the water :-)

Today was not as good. Got rear-ended on the way to the gym. Low speed impact with both vehicles in motion. Went and had x-ray no damage to surgery site.I was told to expect an increase in pain for a couple days. Wnet from ther and did 3laps walking by two laps swimming 1 lane crawl,1 left side side-stroke,1 back stroke, one right side side-stroke. I believe I may start trying to increase swimming laps and decrease walking. and then build up to 20 laps of swimming 5 of each stroke. we'll see how it goes

oh yea did 3 sets of above and then 30 minutes in the whirpool.

overslept some this morning got to the gym still but only got in 10 laps 4 swimming 6 walking. also started posture changes and body turning excersizes. tai-subaki caused a little twisting. Sensei suggested keeping head turn to 90 degress instead of past. Will give it a shot during tomorrows session.

12 laps today plus stretching 6 walking 6 swimming. thinking about increasing to 2 a days going again during lunch to relieve pressure. water is good!!

Went to the Dojo for ID pix. Actually got on the Mat!! I was only able to do rusty, weak, slow, kitten Aikido. But I was on the mat!!

Friday did 15 laps Chad showed up and completed 15 laps as well.

well after missing sat-mon returned to the gym did about 15 laps. I need to stay focused as missing those days left me very stiff. No more slacking!!

had to go to a sales seminar yesterday and today pool was closed for maintenence. Not getting therapy in this week starting to get frustrated AAAARRRGGGHH!!
